A professional practice

I completed a four year core training at Leeds Psychotherapy Training Institute, qualifying as Certified Transactional Analyst in 2001. I became a UKCP registered psychotherapist in the same year. In 2007, I obtained an MA in TA Psychotherapy from Leeds Metropolitan Leeds University.

I worked for many years in the field of adult social care, and I qualified as a social worker in 2002.

Memberships of professional bodies and professional registration

I am a registered practitioner with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I am a clinical member of the Institute of Transactional Analysis (ITA), the governing body for Transactional Analysis in the UK.

My professional background originally was in social work with adults with mental health problems, working in community settings to help people improve their confidence, self-esteem and well-being.

I have worked extensively as a counsellor and therapist within the voluntary sector, and have run a private practice since 1995. I have run a wide range of short, focused therapeutic groups, and a long-term, open-ended psychotherapy group.

Currently in my private practice I work with individuals and couples, on both long and short term contracts.

Professional information

I abide by the UKCP code of ethics, including its policies relating to confidentiality. I receive professional supervision on my work, and undertake regular professional development activities. I have both public and professional indemnity insurance.
